Disclaimer

Last updated: 25 August 2026. This page sets out the limits of the content on The Leiden Connection and the law that applies to it.

Who runs this site

The Leiden Connection (mayflower.radicae.nl) is run by Radicae. Questions about this disclaimer can be sent to info@radicae.nl.

Nature of the content

This site presents genealogical and historical research about Mayflower passengers and their documented connections to Leiden. Each claim is sourced from archival records, cited publications, or clearly marked as an artistic impression where no photograph exists. Despite that care, historical records can be incomplete, damaged, or open to more than one reading, and transcription or translation errors are possible. The content is provided for personal, educational and research interest, not as a certified genealogical record, and not as legal, financial or professional advice of any kind.

The Leiden Archive Mystery

The Leiden Archive Mystery casts you as a fictional archive-researcher trainee — that framing is a game device. Every record, date, name and quotation used in the game is real and drawn from the Leiden city archives, already published elsewhere on this site; nothing about the underlying history is invented. The game's final conclusion is a sourced game deduction built for entertainment and educational purposes, not a certified genealogical finding, and completing it — including any badge or certificate earned — is not proof of descent from anyone and not an official qualification of any kind. The game is independently researched, written and built by Radicae / The Leiden Connection and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with the Mayflower Society, any museum, Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken, any other archive, any municipality, or any educational institution. It is a digital product delivered immediately on purchase; see the checkout terms shown at the time of any future purchase for details on the right of withdrawal.

The Mayflower Leiden Walk

The Mayflower Leiden Walk is a self-guided walking route built from real, cited Leiden Pilgrim records already published elsewhere on this site. Each stop notes what its underlying archive record does and does not prove — the route and its accompanying commentary are a researched, sourced guide for personal and educational interest, not a certified genealogical finding, an official heritage trail, or a guarantee that any specific modern building or address exactly matches its seventeenth-century description. Opening hours, admission prices, and street layouts described for present-day locations can change after publication; always check a venue's own website before you plan a visit around it. The walk is independently researched, written and built by Radicae / The Leiden Connection and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with the Mayflower Society, any museum, Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken, any other archive, any municipality, or any tour operator. It is a digital product delivered immediately on purchase; see the checkout terms shown at the time of any future purchase for details on the right of withdrawal.
